sabrinamari: (We are family)
This time: more than the usual number of things I could never have predicted: new connections appeared and blossomed, old connections reorganized themselves into exciting new forms and uncomfortable connections spontaneously became more comfortable. Good.

Also, Trent rocked the poi, got his Reiki I attunement and started a small business. He now loves HUBRIS (you can see them perform at http://www.youtube.com/user/FireHubris) even more than he did going into the festival; the members of this group all helped him grow considerably as a spinner. Trent is also the only one in the family who made money over the course of the festival, delivering ice to campers who needed to refill their coolers. Woo-hoo!

Michael ran a really successful "Funeral Planning for Pagans" workshop, led a morning meditation series and LOVED the drumming he did at the Saturday night fire circle. As usual, he made us all laugh and kept us semi-organized throughout the weekend. Sitting on the steps of our staircase, he explained that you know it was a *really* good fire circle when your hands are swollen the next day. He spent the festival dancing, drumming, laughing, playing with us and cooking some yummy food.

Stephanie also had a very active FSG. She got some training to go with her fierce home-grown energy running skills and picked up a Reiki I attunement. She was all over the camp, exploring everything the festival had to offer and meeting our very large Blue Star community. She also captured Trent's poi-spinning prowess on video, made sure we all knew that he could get attuned for free and kept an eye on the lad (and on us) when everyone was running around like chickens without heads. She made sure we ate, relaxed for awhile every day and offered delicious renewing massage. We were lucky to have her insight and guidance!

I went to the pool for luxurious, lazy swimming two days in a row and enjoyed reconnecting with many, many friends. I learned some Kundalini yoga in Michelle Zee's "Solar Yoga Energy Burst" FSG workshop (scroll down to the "S" section of the workshop page here: http://www.free-spirit.org/Festival/classes.php#item0069) and had a great time running "Releasing the Masks that Hold You," "Mindful Kissing," "Learning to Stay (in Love)" and "Making Friends with Element Money" with Cat, Michael and Brett.

A really big development: the Blue Star Foundation is up and running. It held its first Board and membership meetings this weekend: http://foundation.bluestarwicca.org/
