I'm at a ritual tonight and can't answer texts. I'll answer tomorrow. This is really cool/ I'm told this will be a relaxed and communicative ritual where you are encouraged to ask lots of questions and there's a lot of discussion. Perfect for me!

Yes, much of the question asking.

It was a whole lot of fun, actually. Very high humor content, lots of interesting historical narratives, delicious food (LOVED the horseradish, apple thingy and latkes) and communal happiness.

"Apple thingy" is haroset. I forget to look forward to it every year, but Louise's is my favoritest.

Was there singing? Singing is good, too, especially if zuzim are involved.

I had many questions about orthodoxy and light switches.

Oh, dear.
There were no light switches when those rules were written.
It's all about "kindling fire." Which we don't do on the Sabbath or Holidays, as it's considered work.
So the short answer, is "leave the lights on for 25 hours, use a crock pot, and/or pre-program it."
Dad made horseradish yesterday. I have to go make Seder happen at 4 PMish tonight with my parents.
And, at 37, I'm the youngest, and have a 'special' part. Sighs.
