From my Dad's last encounter with door-to-door Mormon missionaries:

Missionary: "Did you know that Christ ministered to the Indians before Columbus came to the New World?"

Dad: "Do you mean to tell me that the Lord had a massive crop failure? Because there was a severe lack of Christian Indians when the Spanish showed up".

LOL.

Then there's the technique that my uncle Mike, the high school German teacher, uses for most Christian door-to-door religion salesmen:

Them, often: "So much depends on the translation of the Bible that you're using --" (as they try to claim inerrancy for the King James, or Revised Standard, or whichever one makes their sect look better)

Him: "Very true! I prefer Martin Luther's original translation into German."

They boggle as he gets the book down on the shelf...

Sindce I help to plan music for Christian services, I have a Bible handy on the piano. When anyone comes knocking at the door, I reach for it and challenge them to a duel of verse-reading---especially when they pull out just *certain* verses and forget the previous or subsequent verses----and they shut up pretty quickly when I ask them to explain their point of view in light of the ENTIRE passage. Makes it tough for them when I also point out that if the Bible is the infallible, inspired word of God, then they have to accept EVERYTHING in it..... hee, hee, hee!
