Happy birthday, O! OK, he doesn't read LJ, but I want to wish him a happy birthday anyway.
I spent a great night at the Dirt Road hanging out, listening, watching and doing a little talking. Christine and O are so funny to watch: they are very volatile, yet they work beautifully off of each other. Very different from me. But good!
Listening to them, I am tugged in various directions: they talk about many things I am just exploring, and they have lots of thoughts and opinions about them. They will answer any question (so far) forthrightly, with examples and even demonstrations, especially those questions one might not ask a normal person.
It's perfect. Love it.
Christine sent me away with salsa this morning, and it pretty much saved my butt since I was going straight to a 1st Degree elevation for someone I care about with zero time to stop and get food. Thank you, Christine!
I arrived in the nick of time and got to experience a morning RoP, which isn't something you see every day. It worked beautifully, and I was so glad I went. In many ways, RoPs are my favorite kinds of rituals---they have such a profound impact on both those receiving them and those enacting them. I also like adding in a little of my own Braided Stream flavor to things, too, to spice things up.
It was sweetly and powerfully done.
Unexpectedly, I discovered a new yummy food during the feast. Maggie made latkas (sp?), which looked kind of like hash browns (ick) but turned out to be quite delicious (yum!). The whole table regaled me with tales of latkas when they discovered I had never seen them or tasted them before. It was unexpectedly good.
