Michael just discovered the reason that most adults tell children not to jump on the bed. Breaking beds are really loud. The somersault was pretty impressive, though. I liked it.

It's one thing for children weigh barely more than a gnat to jump on the bed. The danger then is catapulting off the bed and landing on their heads. It's entirely another for full-grown adults to jump on the bed. Or other strenuous athletic activities.

Yes, we noticed this. Right now, Michael is busily drilling holes in two replacement 2x3s. But you should have seen the final somersault flip. It was a thing of beauty.

Also, Michael is thinking of building a customized queen-sized platform bed with a variety of handy hooks and attachments. So maybe it's a good thing.
