Ruminating: Fires of Venus

I'm thinking a lot today. I'm thinking about FoV: what is its guiding mission? What is its purpose, at every level, and what does it really have to offer those who come?

I've thought about these questions many times, but every time I return to them, my answers have deepened, opened, shifted and changed. The Keeper's Retreat is coming, and I want to express myself there in an articulate and authentic way. I also want to explain what I think about it and what I feel it has to offer to someone I admire. It's not as easy to do as it should be...

I haven't asked her about this, but she stuck a foot up Cat's backside and informed Cat that she wanted a fire festival. That's how this all got started.

If the Goddess wants fire, then give Her fire!

As you know, fire can symbolize so many things: passion, cleansing, healing, beauty, energy, chaos, ordeals... etc.

So what will an abundance of fire mean at FoV?

To my mind, that is not something that can be decided ahead of time. I say, provide the flames, and let each of the participants find their own meanings within them.

But this kind of thing is a personal, intimate experience for each attendee, and each will get something a little different from it. The only answers you can come up with are particular to you alone; although others may hare some of what you are feeling, they don't have your life filters or other experiences to meld into the unique whole that is you.

And since when did you NOT express yourself in an articulate and authetic way? That's as much a part of you as the skin you live in. :)

Dave and I were so hoping to be able to attend this year, but it doesn't look promising. :(

Good to ponder. For me as an attendee, it feels like a "holding the space" thing- not necessarily pushing a ton of intention in one direction or another, but holding a healing, loving space and community and letting us lucky people live into that, however that will serve. :)

Really looking forward to it this year.
