The Tao te Ching, Stephen Mitchell translation. It is packed with calm, pragmatic guidance and never fails to restore me to sanity.

Also, Getting Unstuck: Breaking Your Habitual Patterns and Encountering Naked Reality, a Pema Chodron audiobook.

I've discovered that when I'm shaky, anxious or temporarily insane, the application of Buddhist/Taoist principles and intense exercise offer the best cure.

I need to check out the Stephen Mitchell translation I liked the version I read by Gia Fu Feng but I have heard each version is slightly different

Hmm. The book I re-read most often is "Bridge of Birds" by Barry Hughart. There's no non-fiction book I re-read, though there are many I use as a reference.

I just finished re-reading that (and the other two). Fantastic! Good to find another fan... I also don't re-read non-fiction very often. I think "The Lord of the Rings" is up there, but I re-read Susan Cooper's "The Dark is Rising" at Yuletide every year, timing my readings to the events in the book.
