I love that your costume has a kind of weirdly convincing functionality about it, as if the aesthetics are just an organic outgrowth of being able to keep your back supported, clamber around on things without ripping your skirt, and run in your big comfy, boots. You look like a superhero.
The superhero thing is why I like it---especially the boots. I loved being able to walk around all day in 100% comfort---the cincher did not bind (it's a bit loose--I could not tighten it any further), the boots were very comfortable and I had complete freedom of movement.
I loved the beauty and grace of the long gowns, but I know they are very restrictive. This is a problem. My outfit was a good compromise.
But I DID find another solution, for when I am independently wealthy:
Who do you know who could sew you a fine fitted version of this? Perhaps someone who would take cash, tarot, coaching, garden digging, [insert skill swap here]?
