How can I have missed text messages from FOUR different people over the last two days? How can I simultaneously be behind on grant writing, the Australia project, book-related stuff AND FoV work?
The only thing I'm sort of caught up on is the major, really important rite of passage that I'm running on Friday evening, and *that* is debatable.
It's not like I've stopped working for any real length of time over here, although I did spend too much time on FB while LJ was down yesterday. I'm convinced it was just a knee-jerk anxiety response as I grappled with the notion that some anonymous web manager outside of my control could keep me from my writing fix.
And it's Spring Break, we have Trent all week and Michael is *slammed* with work.
Please my dears, cut me some slack over here. For all I know, I've inadvertently dissed you twice already.
Also, because I am so *unbelievably fortunate* in having such a large community of amazing friends, there are many, many of you and only one of me. And I'm real nice, but not all that quick, even under the best of circumstances (laughing).

Date: 2011-04-07 06:53 pm (UTC)wait, wait..tomorrow? was this not a Saturday plan? you mean you were gonna text tomorrow, right?
LJ is always a good choice to reach me because it is my favorite vehicle for communication---I can speak to so many and they can speak back and there is little chance of losing track of emails or not noticing texts...
BUT texts are next best, followed by phone calls, followed by email, which is randomly returned...I try for better, but a systematic way of responding yet eludes me.
So, LJ first, text next, phone if it's urgent, email if you are not attached to a quick response, although you might get a quick responses if the stars align...
Thank you for being a most patient friend.

Date: 2011-04-07 07:10 pm (UTC)Unbelievably, I've had the last two episodes of Being Human for weeks now without touching them. That just shows you how desperate the situation is. : )

Date: 2011-04-07 07:17 pm (UTC)- As a member of Hermes Council, I connect with the role of one who must guide souls to their destination.
- As the one Vann and Joyce come to do their laundry since their machines were flooded, I know how to have meaningful conversations while folding t-shirts.
So it ain't chaos to me! If you need any help, I'll be glad to pitch in.
Yes, I was going to text you tomorrow about coming on Saturday. I know that time is an illusion (especially since today is Buddha's birthday) but I wouldn't break that illusion by arriving early unexpectedly. I think we said 3PM, right?
I'll bring Jekyll. But as it happens, I have not yet seen the final episodes of Being Human myself. So we can co-geek on them!
I also plan to bring a treat. It will be on the chocolate axis. Far, far along the chocolate axis.

Date: 2011-04-07 09:03 pm (UTC)I love geeky intellectuals with my whole, feverish little soul.
And I can't do any math or any of that stuff and I don't care. It is just so cool.

NOTE: I don't actually speak this language. I'm just acting as the go between. You might want to contact him directly with similar questions: brownmt at mac dot com.
Someday, I need to learn to speak some of this. It would really expand my literacy level.

Date: 2011-04-07 08:50 pm (UTC)I'm guessing that you're human; you need down time; and life continues regardless of your needs, resulting in your needs and those of others sometimes falling out of sync. I know - it's crazy talk. I'm just flinging it out there.
Or I could reinforce the idea that you need to Be On Top Of Everything All The Time in order to be valuable and well regarded.
Nah, life's too short.

Date: 2011-04-07 09:01 pm (UTC)I remain convinced that my friends will eventually get frustrated and wander off during one of these uber-packed weeks.
WHY, WHY are you in Macclesfield and not 5 minutes away from me???
WHY am I here in the U.S. instead of wandering the heaths with you and revisiting Avebury and all those cool archaeological sites?
sigh.

Date: 2011-04-08 11:23 am (UTC)I want to check out Macclesfield and the surrounding area with you and I also want to plot out other weirdly awesome treks...
Plus, I must meet all your local friends. You will have ferreted out all the brilliant, unconventional folks by now.

I worship her.
Later, if I can wrap up this section, we will watch goofy sci-fi while collaborating on laundry folding.

Date: 2011-04-08 11:12 am (UTC)Or did you already plan this and I don't know because I haven't logged in for almost two weeks? I saw your email about FSG and I'm in, I just need to go back and answer it.
Or I could just tell you.
