At our last Meeting for Worship, a Friend said that for him, worship is connecting to "that of God" in others through "that of God" in himself; another Friend said that the creative impulse, the urge to co-operate and make art and live and love deeply is what she thinks of as "that of God", and that it is so fundamental that suppressing it makes us physically and socially ill. I kept thinking of the FGs, and of our conversations about getting out of our own way, cutting through distractions from living that deep, creative, co-operative, loving life.
I agree wholeheartedly with both statements, especially the second one---I hear strong truth there. And there is also this, which moves me greatly---I discovered it only a few weeks ago:
“When two people relate to each other authentically and humanly, God is the electricity that surges between them.”
