I should be getting ready to go to work. I just don't feel motivated to do it. I have an immense amount of work to catch up on in terms of my private dissertation schedule and I'm behind where I want to be on 3 different projects at work. Ick. Plus I need to nail down all the preparations for my Colorado trip staring this Saturday. Any way you look at it, pragmatically speaking, I should have stayed home and worked here all weekend.
On the other hand, helping to set up the new grove(s) in Tacoma Park and assisting in the teaching of the initial two classes this weekend was very worthwhile. I enjoyed many aspects of it. Clearly, there's a highly motivated, fascinating group of people up there.
Today there needs to be: amazing amount of catch-up at work (revision of an article abstract, reading and digesting massive background materials for the design of a qualitative evaluation study, designing the study, reading up on the grant application guidelines for the preventive health initiative in Shiloh Baptist church, a phone conference with the point person on the project, wrapping up the Treatment Universe Chapter, doing both normal and hand laundry, going to a dinner meeting, and---as per my New Moon vow---at least 10 minutes of weights or cardio, even though this is an incredibly packed day). It's impossible. OK, let's try to do at least 4 of these impossible things before 10:00pm.

Date: 2004-07-12 12:58 pm (UTC)1) Are you still planning for a defense in Sept?
2) If so, when?
I've got two weddings of friends in Sept. so I need to know when your committment is, if you're still holding to a Sept. defense--since it takes precedence over all else.
Thanks, Sabri !
