Australia update 1
Feb. 21st, 2011 07:08 pmI made it here alive and successfully adjusted to an Australian schedule by refusing to sleep on the flight until 10:00 pm Melbourne time.
Screwed up the transfer from Sydney to Melbourne and had an exciting time riding an external bus and re-checking my way into the domestic terminal.
Looking around at my tiny crew of primary care rock stars this afternoon, I realized what a crazy situation this is: I've flown halfway around the world to help them come to subversive conclusions, plan actions that will really piss off large, powerful groups, and I still have no idea what I'm doing, where I'm going or where I'm sleeping after the workshop wraps up in about three days.
Clearly, I'm doing something right. This is exactly the kind of exciting, tumultuous place I want to explore.
Now all I have to do is get my household income up and figure out how to be doing more of this kind of thing with a delicious honey, instead of by myself.
I also need to get my iPhone to start recognizing wifi networks so I can tell people I'm alive.
OK, running off to dinner with my subversive crew.

Date: 2011-02-21 09:14 am (UTC)I see a book in the offing: My Australian Adventure (or, How I Managed To Change The World & Still Have A Blast).
Actually, seriously, a combined travelogue and explanation of how health care can get changed to actually benefit humans? Would definitely be enthralling, and could earn buckaroos.
