So, last night I went to bed thinking, I'm too close to the landscape to see it clearly. I can't really tell where I should put my focus.

Right.

Snippet of a dream: I was doing research in a small, obscure library, pulling out old texts and carefully photocopying key sections of them. While I stood at the copier, my vision shifted, and I noticed that my arms and legs were actually bound by tightly wound, thick black rope. I was really startled by this, and I wondered how I had been able to move so freely and get everything I needed to do done. Then I thought, "Wow, how do I explain this? This looks so weird!" But I quickly realized that no one else could see them. I had adapted well to them and they had adapted well to me, so they weren't very noticeable although they'd been there for quite awhile.

I did forget to mention another card that comes up frequently:

Yeah.

This is another mental card, about the constraints you live with that no longer help you, and that really get in the way of your happiness. So, this was a helpful reminder about what's really important here. The goal of my last year has been to slip out of these bindings. Everything else that's happening is essentially unfolding in service to that goal, from my current perspective. That's where my attention belongs right now. Everything else will unfold as it must and take care of itself.

Yeah. Definitely. This also reminds me of The Devil, as far as the "chains that bind you" are concerned. Once you realize that you can slip them off at any time, you're free to do so.
