People think this is extreme but it is not. Being personally responsible for your body is an important part of getting good health care. Good for you for watching over your mom's kidney! :-)

yup. her attitude was, "they better not take the good one!"

then again, we used to make jokes about black market organ dealers kidnapping her and taking the bad (cancerous) kidney and totally getting what they deserved. my mom was a(n awesomely) weird person.
