I went to a friend's mother's viewing yesterday

It was a good experience: skyefyr met me there, and we spent an afternoon and evening with our friend, who was tremendously graceful about his loss. There were moments of laughter as well as sadness, and the small group of mourners, both family and friends, welcomed me and skye.

It made me happy to see two Blue Star vases of fragrant flowers scenting the space for all who came by. They gave comfort to our friend and even to his uncle, who is helping with all the tasks that must be done when a parent dies.

I will go back to help him a little more on Monday afternoon and evening, taking the support and comfort of our local community with me.

Thank you for being gracious about her journey of support for us. I needed her there as much as he did, and I'm so grateful she was with us.
