My dad's completed two weeks as a non-smoker, and my mom has joined him. Joy!

I know it won't change the train's path in a radical way, but it is good, it is good.

And yes, it's a wild ride this year...while this is not usually my mythology, I can see it all around me these days. There are many, many opportunities to remind people I love them and offer them support through rough times.

I am continually amazed at how much I am able to pile on my plate: it's an awesome skill. How the heck do I do this?

And through it all, no matter how much I've bitten off, there's always a moment or two to procrastinate on LJ.

Life is so amazing that one *must* laugh. Thank goodness.

it has been a wild ride--the death of a priestess I admire, plus the near death of another this week.

i'v heard a few months of no tobacco will undo a lot of damage. i'm happy to say once i quit (oct 2002), it took very lil time to get my stamina and "wind" back.

Oh, I am sorry!

And thank you for the encouragement...

You could offer me support by meeting my sister in law and me at the Museum of Modern Art on December 7th.

yay for your parents! It's an awesome accomplishment!

And, yes, this season is wild. I wish I could look forward to some down time, but the nature of what we do is that down time is rare. Some things are easier on us than others, and those are the time we re-energize, but in general, we are always working on something.

Well, I always am, and most of my friends and colleagues, are too---is this just who we are, the nature of the job, or are we stuck in dysfunctional patterns?

Or some combination thereof?

I don't know.

Not usually my mythology

What, like Dionysus being ripped apart by crazy women and scattered across the landscape is really any different? >:-)

laughing...but that's a story of wildness and authenticity (usually good things) that got out of control as a result of inappropriate use of hierarchy and oppression/repression. I can really get that story's lesson(s).

But is it really that different?

Oh darn, now you've made me think.

Hmmmmm...
