Back from Boston

Most wonderful: seeing the joy of a friend and her dearest love on their wedding day. Beautiful!

Watching them enjoy each other was the best part of it.

After much planning, collaboration and work by many, many wonderful people, her day was marvelous and her guests were able to enjoy an almost-storybook setting.

Everything is wrapped up now, and we are home and tired. I could sleep for days.

Although this wedding was truly exceptional, I know I'm not up to the planning and preparation required for something this elegant. I am rethinking, aiming for something simpler.

I've also concluded that my parents will not be able to relax into what I had in mind before this weekend, even if it happens outside of FSG.

We'll see. Whatever we do will retain the most important element: shared happiness.

B and I ran away to Key Largo for a reason. And the party that mom threw for us in St. Louis afterwards was really beautiful.

Always KISS. Parents and others can subtly (or not so subtly) nudge you into stuff you don't want or need on your wedding day. Go with what you and Michael have in your hearts - you'll be completely right, no matter what.
