It's time to herd ourselves into a semi-coherent group and buy tickets to The Franklin Institute King Tutankhamun exhibit: The exhibit opens on February 3 and we need to buy tickets now if want to get in during the first month.

I'd like to arrangehe same kind of trip we took for the "Bodyworlds" exhibit earlier this year.

We might not make in the first month, even if we try now.

If you want to join the first foray to the exhibit:

1. respond with your name and the weekend days (Fri Sat or Sun) that constitute your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices

2. Thoughts on whether you would like to spend the night in Philly after viweing the exhibit or before.

3. Any other relevant thoughts.

I'm in! My family may join me based upon availability and work schedules. Saturday and Sunday are my preferences. I work Fridays. I live 10 minutes from Philly so staying in the city doesn't make sense to me, but socializing/dinner/etc. does!

Good weekends for me:
Feb 23-25
March 9-11
March30-April 2

Also good for me (but not my daughter)
Feb 2-4
Feb 16-18
March 16-17

You and yours are welcome to stay at my place, BTW. I have a futon and multiple couches.

Sundays are not so good for me in any month, but Saturdays are eminently doable. I'd rather come up on a Saturday and, if I'm spending the night, spend Saturday night in Philly or its environs. The only totally bad weekends for me are the second weekends of the month---those are reserved for circles! :)

Of course, all of this is subject to change if I have another surgery on the eye---I need a cornea transplant but I don't know when that will happen. I have to wait another two weeks to see that surgeon. **sigh**

I got the email from gophila.com in my mailbox yesterday and my first impulse was to forward it to you. I was at work at the time so I didn't. Are you talking about booking one of the packages which gives you the miraculous, VIP, untimed tickets? The ones that allow you to show up whenever you want and be escorted by a cute young docent, up the secret staircase to the front of the line? That's the bomb.

Count me in. This is my preferred itinerary:

Show up early in the day on Saturday;
Check in to hotel (or drop luggage if room is not ready);
See exhibit;
Sushi;
Drink (You lot do the drinking. I watch and snicker at you.);
Sleep;
Wake up;
Brunch somewhere awesome (maybe in the farmers market?)
And then....
