We are back from elphaba's wedding weekend in Florida. It was truly, truly wonderful. Just amazing on all counts. It was such a appreciated reprieve, as well.

I had never been to Miami or Key Largo and it was a neat opportunity to check them out. I got some rest, and so did Michael. Each of us did 4 open water dives and got to experience SCUBA as it should be---exploring reefs, checking out cool underwater sea life and learning buoyancy control in open water. I was pretty anxious, but I did fine. Everything went OK, and I am bnow certified to dive.

The wedding itself was just marvelous. I enjoyed it to a wicked extreme, and there were so many sources of pleasure involved for me---from spending alone time with elphaba to watching her joy and her honey's utter and total glee and delight at *finally* officially scooping her up---that it seemed like one exciting thing after another.

Both I and Michael discovered that few people travel on the Monday before the 4th of July. That was cool. Getting home was easy.

We returned and started on the house renovations again right away. There are two recognizable bedrooms, the dining room is clear, the kitchen is in near-usable shape, and the bathroom is functional and clean. The refrigerator is clean, and the registers are washed and can be installed tonight.

We have water, and a generator out back is providing some energy when we need it. We hope to have full electric power by Friday.

Today I catch up on a plenty of job-related work and this evening will continue working on the house. I woke up with elphaba's throat and respiratory crud, which is unfortunate---more because it makes it hard for me to plan on seeing Geo than for other reason. I am keeping it at bay with echinacea and hope that if I get regular sleep it will go away faster.

Michael wants to get the floor done tonight except for the doorways.

I want to write up a plan for book writing to get the book as well as the house done in a timely fashion.

I have no more serious plans or responsibilities for the rest of the summer and I'm not making any, either. I just want to get the book done, stay caught up on the rest of my fieldwork and notes, stay healthy/in shape and get the house in decent shape. So mote it be!

I'm glad you had a wonderful time :D

And, er, you do realise, don't you, that writing a book, renovating a house, catching up on all your notes, and staying fit is actually quite a lot of work and not a holiday? I realise you've a track record of piling inhuman amounts of stress on yourself, but you do have to take a deep breath and recognise that you're actually doing a lot. Just so you know. Consider yourself baseball capped from afar, and kindly get into the groove of a normal workload and out of a pathological one, mmmkay?

Love yer.

Glad you got a break
