Podcasting Update
Nov. 7th, 2007 11:13 amMichael and I made four attempts to record our first podcast the other night. The best segment was a snippet where I lost it and screamed,"I can't do it! I can't do it!"over and over. We deleted the rest, but he kept that bit because it was funny.
And it was the most authentic moment of the whole damn night.
Why is this so daunting?
But the good part is that we practiced doing several 'faux podcasts' and discovered that we needed to toss the original approach entirely. It was stuffy, pompous and dumb sounding. The best results unfolded when I did what I normally do as an anthropologist: ask questions and just listen. So that's we'll we'll try next time, maybe today/tonight.
Please cut some slack on our first few podcasts. They'll get better as we go along.
