Diss Update

The Treatment Universe chapter is done and I've gone over the changes that I need to make to the Strategies chapter in hard copy. I have a startegy for revising "Startegies". That's what I hope to complete today.

Evening Diss Update

Sarah is sitting behind me in the comfy reading chair entering editing changes and sentence clarifications to the Treatment Universe chapter. It's looooong. It still needs a 1-2 page concluding section on the benefits of each sector of the health care system (Popular--over the counter meds, herbal teas, stuff you do at home and stuff your friends do for you; Folk--complementary and alternative, Reiki, spiritual, magical, anything you consult a non-biomedical specialist about; Professional---in the U.S., standard biomedical care). But I can do that tomorrow morning first thing.

Sarah is very patient and must love me very much to be doing this for me. She passed up a big party tonight in order to relive the horror of finishing her own dissertation by helping me now that it's my crunch time.

I finished most of the Strategies chapter---I just need to add 1. a section on who used CAM and 2. a concluding section on how the women with lots of cultural and social capital differed from those with less (in other words, how the women who could get the care and resources they needed differed from the women who couldn't).

This is also on tomorrow morning's agenda.

Then, tomorrow I write a 10-page conclusion while Sarah proofreads Strategies and the Conclusion and finishes the bibliography.

And we're done.
