OK, Here's the plan:
Aug. 6th, 2004 10:53 amDone laundry, chores, watering, cats, grooming stuff, picking up, dishes, calling Louisa, etc.
Now going to do some cardio, then shower and get started. Yesterday I wrapped up the Conceptions of HIV chapter, in which I analyzed the worldviews of the 17 women I worked most closely with and sought to understand how they saw HIV and AIDS, whether they thought they could successfully stand against the virus, and how it impacted them as individuals, women and mothers.
This afternoon, I'm looking at the loooong chapter, the Treatment Universe chapter, in which I lay out all the biomedical and CAM (complementary and alternative medicine) options that these women drew upon. This includes plenty of spiritual and magical healing work, so it will be fun. I also have alot of social commentary and discussion of the barriers they ran up against in the clinics, and that will be important, too.
My goal: get through all the changes and fixes that I need to make to the chapter in time to give it to Sarah to proofread. She'll be working on the bib when she gets here, then proofing Conceptions, and then I need to give her at least the first half of Treatment Universe before she needs to leave.
Be ready to tackle the more fragmentary and difficult Strategies Chapter by late this afternoon/this evening.
