Tried to post links to various photos, but it didn't work. This should link to the gallery, though. They're just cool and sexy, and they show off men's legs really well. I'm just pleased to know that some men, somewhere are wearing them.

Mock utilikilt commericials as pointed out by the clever [livejournal.com profile] glenmarshall, below:

They're a great company, and are really fun people to hang out with. I've been to a few events where I've either been at the airport with them or going to the airport, catching a group ride, etc. Good stuff, and their kilts are made so well.

I'm not surprised to hear that they are fun people.

I periodically try to talk T into one. Some years ago, he said he liked the black leather one, but obviously wouldn't wear leather. I dropped an email to the company and asked if they had any intention of making a faux-leather kilt for their veggie fans, as I'd love to purchase one from them. I wish the reply had just been, "Sorry, we're not planning on that, but we may expand the range of colours in the cotton kilts" instead of something rude. Maybe they've got better since then.

Damn, that's disappointing. Perhaps the person who answered the email was uncharacteristically rude. Hope so, anyway.

Fingers crossed. He certainly didn't like vegetarians, and that is his prerogative. Funny way to respond to someone who wants to buy things from you, though.

Many of my friends wear them here-- and there is a group photo at Starwood taken most every year now of kilted men.

For awhile now, a Utilikilt also happens to be the *only* thing I want for Solstice this year.... heh, heh. =)

And may i say, simply...yum.

Is that [livejournal.com profile] rainbear wearing a utilikilt along with your own wonderful Phil?

And is the man in the shocking pink the now-famous "Jailbait", or is that someone else?

Date: 2005-08-09 09:19 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] jeneralist.livejournal.com
Nope, the other kilted man in the photo with Phil is someone from the Boston area whose name escapes me for the moment -- Scott? married to Rachel?

And the man in the shocking pink is not JB. Guessing from the photo's web address, I'm guessing it's someone named Rob. The Founder of the Feast can be found here: http://www.homeport.org/~dbs/newpix/273/pages/p7310084.jpg.jpg.html

Michael bought a kilt at Joy's in New Hope this weekend while looking unsuccessfully for a Utilikilt, and wore it with a snug sleeveless black shirt and big, heavy leather boots. The effect was simply stunning. I have no photo, but I will try and remedy that in the future.

Kilts, boots and tattoos in combination are utterly irresistable. Maybe because they look to me kind of like what historic/prehistoric warriors of several different cultures might have worn...hmmmm...

Thinking here of descriptions of Sparta's elite fighters as well as various groups of warriors from the British Isles.

OK, that's enough! Brain must move onto other, more productive things. Back to work!
