methastra has been working hard, collaborating with me to set up this year's FSG Priestly Track. He thought up a much better name that explicitly lays out who we are targeting and wrote a stronger introductory blurb to the track, and because of this, I think attendance will be up at many of the individual sessions. My gratitude at Brian's inspired revisions and expansions, and his very hard work, is simply immense. Brian is also the healer, who, along with Natalie (
flamespirit), his amazing and lovely girlfriend and also a talented healer, helped me entirely re-orient my chakras so that it would be easier/possible for me to connect with other human beings in an intimate way.
if you want to look at the FSG track as it has been submitted to
citabria, otherwise known as Renee, FSG Coordinator and Priestess Extraordinaire, go to
methastra's first journal entry for today and take a look.
In other FSG news, Matty
yoga_matt wrote an incredible Main Ritual, tying together many themes and patterns that emerged from earlier brainstorming and discussion and adding in his own genius. Based on his end product, I'm working on the Opening and Closing rituals, closely following one of my favorite sacred texts, "Where the Wild Things Are".
We will be busy. It will be awesome. These rituals will be the largest I've ever collaborated on and I'm eager to see how they blossom.
It is work like this that freshly evokes the utter loving joy I experience as a Blue Star Priestess. I still have to figure out how to be a NJ 3rd in a way that is much more sustainable and much less prone to burnout, but I *love* this work. I love my life's work deeply, fiercely and passionately, and I am so damn lucky that this is the case. Between FSG, the emergence of new coven and my private mentoring and teaching work with
skyefyr, I am feeling very fulfilled as a Priestess today.
EDIT: Oops, just saw a mistake that I previously missed: both Cat (
catpaw67) and I need to insert a line about helping to sponsor the new DC coven into our bios, and the line in mine about being its 3rd needs to be taken out. My bad---I missed this in reviewing the final draft, Brian. My apologies! Cat, you and I need to decide how to cite this in our bio blurbs. Maybe we can say we are "sponsoring 3rd degrees" for the group? I'll call you later so that we can figure this out.
Now that the newly emerging NJ coven has a name, maybe I can insert that into my bio as well.
EDIT 2: Teachers and Priest/esses: take a look at Brian's (
methastra's) "The Teacher is Off Duty" buttons, displayed on his new web site. They will come in handy at FSG. Brian has also thought up a business card that he can hand to interested folks after class when he can't stay to talk with all of them that provides them with the encouraging option of contacting him via the web later. It's such a bright move and potentially preserves his ability to get massages, take classes and have fun at the festival as well as teach there. Fortunately, he's giving a class packed with strategies of just this kind for teachers and clergy.

Date: 2005-05-26 08:08 pm (UTC)I'm toying with the idea of offering a 'staff only' one before FSG, either the first night there before the hoards show up or somewhere convenient.
If nothing else, it will let me try it out for refinement before the 'official' one and possibly add some good ideas from peoples' suggestions.
Let me know what you guys think of the idea, or when/where might be a good time/place to do it.

Date: 2005-05-26 04:53 pm (UTC)I'm only sorry that I'm going to be missing out on such a wonderful experience as FSG and learning from such wonderful people as yourselves. Oh well, I guess my trip to Europe is more important at this time. Although, right now, I cannot possibly see how...:-)

In the face of no data, I think it's better to overprepare.

Date: 2005-06-20 04:11 pm (UTC)Sabrina, as a participant and attendee, I want to thank you and Matt and all the creative geniuses who designed and developed the Rituals for FSG. They were wonderful!!!
As was meeting you... thank you for what little time you had to spare. I enjoyed meeting you and talking with you. Take care of yourself, and I am certain one day you will get the T-Shirt you really want!
Bright Blessings and Warm Hugs!
