To make things as easy as possible to understand, we can summarize the four boundless qualities in the single phrase "a kind heart." Just train yourself to have a kind heart always and in all situations.

~Patrul Rinpoche

I walked yesterday and got hooded. About two feet in front of Jane Goodall. It was incredible. And M. showed up at my door at 9 am with little bunny Trent and a vase of a dozen roses, bagels in case I had forgotten to eat (I had), and a card. A total surprise. And my parents were at the 3-hour long RoP along with my brother. It was awesome. I got teary-eyed when we processed between two long lines of older and middle-aged faculty, all wearing the same specially-designed Rutgers doctoral regalia as were we.

I am so far behind with everything and I have to take the online Human Subjects Research test today and my parents are staying an extra day and I will never catch up and I haven't paid bills yet and I don't even care.

But my brother is here and everything is OK and I am happy.

I think I can catch up with my beloved LJ friends next week. Be well, dears.

CONGRATULATIONS HONEY!!!

And for the record, I found some things out the hard way. Bills can be one month late without any reprocussions. Gas and electric can get up to 3 before they start threatening to turn your power off. Most others get ansy around the two month mark. So don't stress, you'll be fine if you push them back a week or two!

Enjoy your time with your family and your brother! I'm so happy to see you so happy. Great bit cyber hugs!!!

Wooo-Hoooo!

Congrats! Awesome to finally have the ceremony to close it, huh?

Just because I'm on the commencement committee for my school, I do have to ask one question, though: They have the faculty wearing the regalia of the school for which they teach, as opposed to their alma maters? Or do they keep the alma mater colors and just have a different robe design or something?

Congratulations!
