Away for a week
Oct. 4th, 2008 07:36 pmBecause of the kindness of Michael's parents, Michael and I will be in Mayan Riviera for the next week. We'll be staying with them here:

...which is kind of hard to believe. But wonderful things happen when you least expect them, so I embrace this opportunity with gratitude and delight.
I only wish my dad were in better health. I'm worried about staying in touch with him while I'm gone. My plan is to buy a calling card there and check in every couple of days. Christopher, I'll also be checking in with you via email and LJ while I'm gone.
In some good news, this is Day 6 of my dad's journey to quit smoking, and he sounds good. My brother gave him a project to work on and he's focused on it with gusto. I think that really helps.
My fingers are crossed that all will be well in my absence.
