But I thought you were supposed to be getting ready to fly to Colorado, rather than playing on LJ?

It's nice to see that you can be a little laid back, though :) I was getting worried about your incipient date with burnout...

Laughing...I'm still at work, pulling all my most recent electronic chapter versions into one electronic folder that I'm saving on my work machine as well as taking with me to Colorado. I'm also putting hard copies of each commented chapter, with any additional revision suggestions from my advisor, into a single binder that will accompany me there as well.

When I get home, I'll need to assemble all my related articles and supplementary material to take with me and pack them as any books that I'll need.

Finally, I need to pack clothes and toiletries, do laundry, and water and spray my garden...oh and feed and snuggle the cats. I'll get to bed pretty late, get up early, and be off to work in Colorado with all my most important dissertation-related writing material and some clothes, with luck.

Stupid Email Tricks

One of the tricks that I use when going away is to email myself copies of what I will be working on to a webmail-accessable account.

That way if the computer blows up, the disk gets lost or whatever I can just log onto my webmail account from any computer and pull down my files.

Worst case, you can the go to any Kinkos and write for $12/hr on one of their computers.

Just a trick (that also takes the pressure off).
