My reaction to this is silly, but I can't shake it:
The Daleks are a race of genocidal xenophobic totalitarian killers. They're a great villain for the Doctor to fight, but I have a problem with turning them into a kids' riding toy.
Yeah, it's a stupid feeling, because the Daleks are fictional. I still have the image of kids learning to trivialize real-world horrors because they've learned to treat fictionalized horrors as play-toys.
And I have yet to hear of a kid growing up to be a nightmarish predator because they played with T-Rex toys in their youth.
I am always delighted and amused by it, especially the catalogue descriptions. I just want to make friends with all the catalogue writers. They seem so awesome.
