This weekend made me happy. I don't know how we did it, but we seemed to have bent time.
Stephanie was here for one evening/night, and Dusty for another, and we all had a lovely time. There was much relaxing and hanging out, and Michael got to spend fun time with each of them while I logged some much-needed sleep. On top of all this social goodness, Stephanie showed up with healthy, tasty goodies and Dusty arrived with scissors and a suitcase of professional hair color.
We all giggled, we all ate well, and I'm a (red-violet) brunette (sort of) again.
Days were spent bringing order back from chaos, and the house is once again a model of clean, shiny organization. The fridge is full, the meal plan has been written and my morning gym visits are once more established. I also slipped in some time to think about my broader goals for the week and the month, something I really enjoy.
Peace, harmony, and order have returned to the household, and I feel grounded again.
Oh, and a new hinge vow: from Beltaine to Samhain, refined sugar in the form of cake, candy, ice cream and non-nutritive sweets enters my mouth only twice a week or less. Hello fruit! SMIB

Date: 2011-05-17 12:39 am (UTC)In a Blue Star ritual group, this is symbolized by the passing of a sword from Priest to Priestess. The Priestess holds it from Beltaine to Samhain, and the Priest from Samhain to Beltaine. At each hinge, you have the opportunity to take a hinge vow (usually something that will help you, but that's kind of challenging) for the next six months.
