I use this day as an opportunity to tell/show quite alot of people how I feel. My parents used to give me Valentine's gifts, and I do the same for Trent. I also love helping him make/fill out his Valentine cards, because I want to encourage him to be emotionally generous and invest in the people he cares for.

I send cards to some friends, to my parents, to my man, to many people I love.

It feels good. I especially like it when I get handmade cards, or someone makes something for me like a drawing, or a written out poem or a treat. Just recently, a friend made me a batch of heart-shaped cookies and it made me feel so loved to know that she had made them, shaped them and sprinkled them with red sprinkles just for me. Wow. It's a delicious feeling.

Any opportunity to express my delight in my beloveds is good in my book.

I'm with you on this, and I'm glad I'm not the only one! Of course I try to show my loves how I feel about them at all times of the year, and in ways that have nothing to do with the trappings of Valentine's Day. But I like the fact that in the middle of the dreariest time of year, there's a reminder to look up from my busy life and really be effusive about love, and an excellent excuse to be completely and utterly schmooptastic about expressing it!

I plan to wallow in self-pity and express anger at the rest of the world.

OK, that's out of the way. Back to normal.
