Time to move on, let go and open up to new possibilities

On this Sunday, January 31st, an important astrological aspect comes exact. It's actually been exerting its influence since October 2009, according to Benjamin Bernstein (see below), and will continue doing so through September of 2010.

The aspect in question is a Saturn-Pluto square. Benjamin describes it this way:

"This is like the Clash of the Titans, with two mighty opponents battling for supremacy. We can see its influence in the current healthcare debate, with Republicans and Democrats historically polarized. This aspect is also historically associated with both man-made and natural disasters, and was very much in influence when the devastating earthquake struck Haiti.

To make positive use of this energy, take a realistic and uncompromising look at everything in your life -- possessions, ideas, relationships, etc. -- that has outlived its usefulness (Saturn). If it can be changed and made positively useful again, then transform it (Pluto). But if it is no longer helpful, then let it go (Pluto again). If in doubt, throw it out! Create a void so that Spirit has the space to replace what you've released with something better.

2010 and the coming years will bring global transformation on an unprecedented scale, and we all need to be ready for light-speed change. Releasing everything you no longer need is an important step in being ready for these extraordinary times!"

As usual, I've noticed a strong urge to "clean house" in my life and among my close friend's lives for months now. Things and relationships that were once powerfully helpful are now either transforming into new forms or moving on/falling away. While this can be a little unsettling, it ushers in tremendous possibilities for those willing to ride the waves.

I'm trying to be proactive and let go, let go, let go.

I really like it when you post stuff like this. I've been busy around my apt trying to throw out stuff I don't and haven't used, concentrate on things I want to do (like learning to play piano), and finalizing projects that have been sitting around for years -- and in some cases that means acknowledging that I won't do them and finalizing means tearing them up or throwing them out. It just seems like the time for it yannow?

It's definitely a time of change for B and I. We're settling on our first home together on 1/29, renting out his old townhouse (that he originally owned with his ex) and moving on 1/30. Throwing lots of things out too :-)

Dave and I are making plans to clean out/re-organize some stuff here in the house. It's long past time, and he has a new interest that he needs to feed. I'm also doing some mental housecleaning and getting rid of old stuff that just doesn't fit with what and who I am and am becoming. And just in time too---classes began for me today, rehearsals have already begun, and I've been offered a position as a church musician (still debating that one)---but the universe is moving. Gotta catch up!
