Last Wednesday's festival of KIVA loans was wonderful. I put together the input of many friends and made over 60 loans.

The list of criteria included, but was not limited to:

women in unconventional career projects
Central and South America in general
Costa Rica
Ecuador
Ghana
loans that were ending soon
crafters and designers
U.S. entrepreneurs
widows
parents paying for their children's school fees
organic farmers
weavers
clothing designers and those who create art involving garments
health care workers and entrepreneurs
anyone whose description mentioned HIV/AIDS
potentially transgendered folk
folks with really interesting names

You can see the full list of our team's loans here:

http://www.kiva.org/community/viewTeamLoans/?team_id=7406

We now have 33 members, 137 loans and as of this moment have loaned out a total of $3450.00.

Thank you, Team Blue Star Wicca and Friends, and my thanks to everyone who sent me/told me about their loaning criteria!

Would you be willing to teach a class in something like this at FSG 2010? Part of the 2010 theme is "What are you doing for the generations to come" and I would love to see some classes on community service and things we can do.

I would love to do this, honey. I never even thought about it...but I could make it fun, and our team has given us some experience to work from...
