Policy Changes at Home

Over the last two days, I've had long talks with my honey mage. We were heading in a direction that I didn't really want to go. Luckily, he opened up a moment in which to talk and we each stepped up to the plate in a big way, speaking our minds to each other.

I was able to speak my truth and he was able to speak his, and together, we shifted course towards a new destination.

I am so very grateful to have a partner who welcomes changes and can engage in scary discussions with love and respect.

I feel peace where there was conflict, and possibility where there was tension and fear. I am truly lucky to have this man as my life partner. Hurray for this house of joy!

"Honey mage" makes me imagine him pouring out honey in an intricate ceremonial circle all around him, and then (because I am evil), pouring it all over his naked body in some sort of lust spell.

Now if only you could teach a couples workshop on how to do that. It is not a commonly modeled behavior. I can't even imagine having a partner that receptive to begin with and who would actually keep their promises for change afterwards, and it is hard to make something happen when you can't even imagine it.

I have to admit, "honey mage" did prompt rather erotic visuals.

I'm glad you're with someone who listens to and respects your truth as well as speaking his own truth. I hope you continue to find common ground between the two.
