It's a bit strange; they say the photos are to confirm the ID of people as they are admitted to the taping.

They say the photos are for ensuring the identification of each member of the studio audience and that you can't be admitted to the taping unless they have your full name and a photo to confirm your ID. But I don't really know what it's about.
