I will investigate tickets today, including exploring elphaba's tantalizing no-timed ticket suggestion. I don't know if there are still openings but we'll try.

This way, we could get in on Saturday and those who want to stay could stay over till Sunday.

I'll keep you posted.

Elphaba, can you forward me that email and/or call my cell phone this morning?

It looks like I'll coordinate this with a little week-long home school-style project for Trent on Ancient Egypt. I'm wondering if we can also involve Collin, and maybe even Rowan. What do you think, skyfyre? Catpaw? Is Rowan old enough, perhaps?

Thinking, thinking...

This is the skinny on the hotel package and the VIP tickets:

There's a great hotel package for the special exhibition, Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs, on view at the Franklin Institute (February 3, 2007 - September 30, 2007), which gives you the opportunity to see the exhibition and stay overnight in style.

Take advantage of the King Tut Hotel Package and you'll get exclusive, VIP Tickets to the exhibition so you can visit Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs any time you like. Booking the Hotel Package is the only way to get these VIP, un-timed tickets to the exhibition.

The King Tut Hotel Package includes:

* Two (2) VIP tickets to Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs, the acclaimed exhibition coming to the Franklin Institute Science Museum. VIP tickets are only available through the King Tut Hotel Package. VIP tickets gain you entrance to the exhibition at anytime during exhibition hours — others must purchase timed tickets.
* Overnight accommodations
* Other amenities, which vary from hotel to hotel

I don't know if you can book a hotel room and pay for extra VIP tickets. "Oh gee, we're bringing our kids and need tickets for them..." It's worth looking investigating. If a handful of us could book rooms and supply VIP tickets to the folks who are not staying over - that would be great.

Email on the way to you.

Hey Sabrina,

I think Pat and I would be interested in this -- would we be able to go with you all or are things already set?

*hugs*

We are in for this. I don't know how interested R would be in a long project, but we want to take her. Please count me in for two adults and one child. R will be 3 at the time you're talking about. I don't know yet who the adults will be.

Oops!

This is R's b-day weekend. We will be busy. Please don't get us tickets.

BTW, American Express is doing VIP tickets that sound really cool. They're good for any day, any time, include the audio tour and the DVD. They have to be bought by Dec 15. They are $150 for two people, which is steep, but they still sound enticing.

The hotel package might seem a bit excessive, but it's worth it. B and I have done it for Body Worlds and the Dali exhibit a few years ago. Remember waiting on line for Body Worlds? We didn't have to. We were able to make the most of our day, and cram maximum city exposure into a brief period. No waiting = no downtime. This is important to me because I hunger for sidewalks.

B isn't interested in this exhibit so I would end up with a single room and an extra ticket.

I am already in Philly the first weekend of the month for the mini-gathering. Perhaps we should go then? Sunday is not very booked for us. Sundays are always better than Saturdays for me. Other than that, Feb is a bad month for me.

I just have to confirm what weekend we have Collin and will get back to you with a date.

Beth loves Ancient Egypt, so she might be interested in helping out also.
