From [livejournal.com profile] vgnwtch:

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 3 sentences on your blog along with these instructions.
5.Don’t you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.
6. Tag five people.

"Almost without exception, fathers and the women who marry them are concerned with the children's adjustment to step-family life, often at their own emotional expense. As a couple, you need to strike a healthy balance between meeting the children's needs and caring for each other. As stepmother to your husband's children, you also have the right to feel and act like a newlywed, especially if this is your first marriage."

From "The Enlightened Stepmother: Revolutionizing the Role," Perdita Kirkness Norwood and Teri Wingender

I'm not sure who has been tagged and who has not, since I've been reading LJ infrequently...so I simply invite anyone who wants to do this to go ahead and do so.

Laughing!

I'm just basically intellectually lazy. If I think that there is even a chance that someone, somewhere has already researched an issue for me, I just go looking for their work before I even try to reinvent the wheel myself.

Ah well, when you talk about my "frugal skills", I say the same: I'm lazy! :D

I can't believe you're going to be a mom

It makes me want to do it, just to keep up. But you won't have to worry about having a kid in college just as you are (or SHOULD be) getting ready to retire. No fair!!!! How dare you be younger than me!
