I feel a very strong flowing mass of calm running down and around my body like slow, thick, water. It feels alot like receiving Reiki. My hands are tingling. My fears have dissipated and I'm just experiencing this flow. It's strongest in my hands, lower arms, shins and third eye, but I also feel it distinctly around my forehead. It is heavy, but in a very comforting, soothing way
This is totally unexpected. It is a profound relief.
Thank you, Beth...or if this is coming from a combination of people, I thank you all.
A wonderful person you might know gave me some great advice once:
Remember, breathing helps.
Focus on the rhythm and pattern of your breath. Study the duration of each breath. Sometimes I find it helps me to say the elemental affirmation as I breathe and to really connect with it.
Feel yourself as part of the infinite beauty of the universe and know that whatever it is, this momentary flux, it too shall pass.
Years ago, when vexed by a serious work related project, I went for a twelve mile run, twice around Central Park in NYC and came back more refreshed than if I had vegged. Please accept my warm rays of soothing energy in any event.
What a great idea! I am going to close down my computer at work now and go home, despite not yet having finished, and do a "run" on the elliptical trainer with something really loud blaring----oh, yeah: "Back in Black"!
THEN I'll relax and read in a warm jasmine-scented bath...

Vanilla incense.
A few candles, and time alone.
At least, that's what I would do if I had the time.

Date: 2004-08-31 11:33 am (UTC)Hope it helps. I know hard it is to self-soothe, particularly when you're in the midst of things.
