...when my symptoms stopped.

they had been gradually receding over the previous few weeks, but the day before yesterday, they stopped cold.

I guess the light became strong enough, and long enough.

I think spring has come to New Jersey.

Coincidentally I felt an overwhelming need to wear a spring green sweater this morning. Also, a new crocus popped open this morning. All good omens.

I have been fine for days (pretty much since LH was here to visit--damn, but chemistry is powerful stuff), but then today I had a setback (probably because it's so grey). Out came the light, and I'm feeling better. I can tell because I cleaned R's room, did all the laundry, and am now considering putting up some new curtains. :-)

I'm gald you're doing well. And I love spring. Pray for good sales. My business is sitting on a knife's edge right now.

I've only needed about 30 minutes with the lightbox in the mornings for a little while now. For a while, I was up to 45 minutes or even more just to feel sort of normal. Now it's about half an hour to feel chirpy :)

The dogwoods are blooming here. Sudden bursts of pink and white against the otherwise grey surroundings.

Its very cool.

For winter's rains and ruins are over,
And all the season of snows and sins;
The days dividing lover and lover,
The light that loses, the night that wins;
And time remembered is grief forgotten,
And frosts are slain and flowers begotten,
And in green underwood and cover
Blossom by blossom the spring begins.

Since PolyLiving, I've had a problem with my left eye and have been fairly blind in that eye since. Today was the surgery to hopefully correct that problem---and I'm sitting here with one eye patched completely shut and the other near-sighted eye valiantly trying to do double duty. Tomorrow, I see the surgeon and have the patch removed. I think that when that happens, I will experience the first stirrings of spring. Dave has been telling me that the buds are out on some of the trees, and that there are some signs of green in the park. I haven't been able to see them---maybe tomorrow will be the start of that revelation. Spring will mean a lot more to me this year than it ever has before---opening my physical eyesight combined with my inner sight being opened by some of the wonderful thigns I've read over the past month or so---I can't help but think that, even if I am 50, I'm slowly being re-born and renewed with every day that passes. It feels marvelous!

The pussywillow in the yard just put its buds out yesterday. Maybe next week, I'll plant radishes and lettuces.
