Happy New Year
Jan. 3rd, 2006 10:47 pmFinally healthier---I slept alot during the last 7 days. Finally recovered enough to go out briefly twice this weekend. And I have deeply enjoyed the time D. has been able to spend with me since Saturday, when her brother drove her back to us from Hoboken. Luckily, I had recovered enough to really welcome her and offer a little support this weekend while she waited to turn in her last, official copy of her diss---done this day---and just appreciate her. Really, though, it is she who has been supporting and guiding me---and that's not so unusual.
The two of us were fortunate to spend some gentle fun time with Karen and Tom, Jen, her family and other friends, including a wonderful, calm, happy New Year's Eve. D. and I each went to bed immediately after midnight and rested some more, to try and stay on the upwards-moving swing. M has been a wonderful support throughout the last weeks, too, and D. has been able to meet him.
In terms of health, I'm feeling much better, and I'm very happy for D. D's news is the big news.
She is done, totally and completely, with her dissertation.
Braided Stream now includes Dr. W., Dr. A. (
dr_pretentious), Dr. H. (
jeneralist) and Dr. C (me).
Thank god the reign of the Ph.D night terrors are over.
Now we need to support T. through her nursing program.
I am behind on email and LJ, friends, but hope to start catching up tomorrow. I am hoping that all those I love are well and at peace.
