The doctor I saw yesterday, B., who is also a colleague (sp?) who works with me at the Research Divison just *called me at home* to make sure that I am OK and that the antibiotic she prescribed is working for me. She said that she was worried after she saw me yesterday and wanted to make sure that everything was OK today.

I have never been called by a doctor like this before, in recent memory at least, much less a physician who was *worried about me*. My friends call me and check on me and visit and take care of me, but a doctor?

Wow. I am a serious B. fan now. Is this what it's like to have really good ongoing primary care?

May she have a WONDERFUL holiday season!

That is unheard of. You are *very* fortunate to have found her. Enjoy!

I picked up a really fantastic PCP last year. She called me a few times when I had my breast lump scare, and even emailed me to ask me for organ donor stuff for her office! Having grown up with a country bumpkin practice where the doc still black-bagged it to a few homebound patients *and* had an ancient x-ray machine in his office that they still tried to use from time to time, this was a delightful modernization for me!

Our doctors all do that when you've got something significant or had something significant done.

So it's normal when you have a good dr.

Aren't dr's like that wonderful? That's why I love my neurologist so much. Dr. K used to check up on me regularly when I was having such horrible migraines all the time and being hospitalized for them. Talk about endearing yourself to someone!
