It's been running from 9 to 9.

There is alot of conflict being voiced, and I've been too exhausted to even check my email.

Catching up will happen this weekend.

VERY USEFUL THOUGHT THAT HAS EMERGED FROM THIS RETREAT:

"You teach people how to disrespect you---by tolerating disrespect, you teach them to continue. You show them that you are worth less than they are. Allowing people to treat you with disrespect never, ever works."

Examples the speaker gave:

Allowing students to turn in late work without penalty after you've stated that there will be a penalty.
Allowing people to read their email during meetings that you facilitate.
Allowing people to belittle you verbally or through their actions without calling them on it and refusing to stay present for it.

This is a huge issue for me. I have been teaching people to disrespect me for years. I've realized this in a modest way, but have been unable to change it in a fundamental way---at least in several important contexts.

Yesterday, I was able to hear it.
