Really good things
Mar. 18th, 2005 07:38 am1. Jen Hamilton took my blood pressure last night. For the first time since last summer, it's normal----122/70. The blood pressure meds are working---now that I am taking them every day again. I am extremely happy about this! Dance of joy...
2. I am working on my divorce papers and being a good kid with them. And as sligoe pointed out, it does feel good to be moving on in the way that is best for me. I am happy and proud of myself.
3. I also proud that I've said no to students and no to overscheduling several times in the last two weeks. I am reaping the rewards in greater overall peace of mind and lowered stress levels.
4. I skipped dharma class last night in favor of resting and seeing (Dr.) Jen, who offered to come over and help me with several self-care issues (see above). Instead of feeling guilty about skipping, I feel good. I needed the rest. I need rest tonight, too, if I am going to be of any use on Saturday at all, so I plan to stay home tonight, too and head over to Turtle Hill on Saturday and see if I can spend a little time with my bud Cat before the festivities.
5. I've been working out but not posting, but I won't beat myself up about the posting issue. I'll start again today and not stress.
6. Shannon has introduced me to the phenomenon known as 'Chinese Laundry' shoes---the poor woman's Prada. In fact, she and Amy have been giving me a course in the utility of sexy shoes that have no athletic supportive qualities but are fantastic anyway. I am learning about the eroticism of shoes, an area that I knew nothing about, and more about fashion. As it happens, my roommate is up on fashion and happy to help me out with this, and it's pretty cool and alot of fun. Plus, I can learn by watching her and watching Amy, so I don't have to spend a ton of money---I can just observe and integrate as they have fun spending theirs.
But I did buy a single pair at a pretty reasonable price, and now I have the most gorgeous pair of gold, high-heeled Chinese Laundry shoes to match my Asian silk dress imaginable. These shoes are hot! I mean, these shoes are *wow*. Shannon had a shoegasm when I put them on. I can't wait to wear this outfit.
7. I have ordered 2 lbs. of vanilla oil and can distribute 32 ozs. among the Blue Star communities of the United States without stress or worry. I will be bringing 1 lb. to Minnesota. At the low, low cost of $4 per oz., it looks like everyone will be able to get the dark, rich vanilla oil that they want.
8. I'm just happy. It's so good to have friends. I am so lucky to have so many wonderful people in my life. Today, my only worries are about some of those friends and the pain that thay are facing as they confront major challenges in their lives.
Love you, dear ones.
