Doesn't it depend on the breakup? I know I've had some where things were pretting "invisible", and others where things just sort of dragged along forver, and a couple where one or the other was horrible, evil and vindictive (usually me).

Admitedly it's been a while since I had any sort of break up, so my memory might be failing here :)

I do think it depends a great deal on when it happens in your life and with whom.

Plus, the meme should have had other possible responses. It was an imperfect tool (like so many memes).

The question asking, "How would you feel if a good friend was dating your ex?" should have had this possible response:

"You would wonder what your friend saw in your ex and worry about her mental and emotional wellbeing".

For some reason, people seem to assume that when you presented with such a situation and you smack your friend it's because you're jealous, not because you are trying to wake them up :)

I'm thinking that tests that don't include things like "if your ex calls up out of the blue just to chat" much less answers like "use gratuitous profanity and then have to go out to the practice range to shoot things" probably isn't covering the full range of human possibilities.
