Good Panic
Mar. 26th, 2010 02:55 pmToday I'm having a serious fit of good panic.
Good panic happens when you realize that you are surrounded by many, many projects in various states of completion that reflect who you really are.
Good panic is the mini-overwhelm that descends on you while your dreams are coming true.
Good panic is when you look back on your week and notice that you did several scary things---BIG scary things---and did not die. You may feel a little queasy and a little bit nervous thinking about them, but basically, you feel good.
Good panic means that you are prepared to face your fears: Who the heck am I to do this work? Why should anyone listen to me?
Good panic means that you can hear those internal, critical voices without even slowing down for them.
Good panic means that you are pretty confident about your ability to manage anxiety while you live up to the coming challenges. You will still feel like throwing up.
Good panic is a good problem to have.
