Joy and Wonder
Oct. 1st, 2010 11:21 amRight before the third Keeper's Retreat, I facilitated a small two-day meeting for 13 primary care rock stars from the U.S., Canada and Australia. It was my first attempt to do a full-length professional meeting.
It was exciting, terrifying and completely engaging. I spent many hours orchestrating the mind/bodies of the people in the room. I made them get up and work on the floor, on the walls, and on the flip charts we set up all around them. I made them talk when they weren't sure of themselves and quieted those who struggled to share the floor.
I pushed them when they stalled and forced them to push themselves. I praised them when they broke through their old categories and completely forgot to be intimidated by how brilliant and amazing they were. It was a privilege to watch them spin something useful and beautiful for the world.

Before we even started, the rules were made clear to me: I'd work the first meeting in New Jersey, but there were no funds to send me to the second meeting in Melbourne, Australia. That was OK with me. It was a privilege simply to facilitate the first round.
Today word came that they shook down their grant so they could bring me to Australia in February. I'll be facilitating in Melbourne on the week of February 19th.
I can hardly believe it. It's amazing!
EDIT: Maybe I can take my B.C. and regulator with me to the Great Barrier Reef. Hey
elphaba_of_oz, I need a refresher or two. Can you help me out with this?

Oct. 1st, 2010 08:28 pmHoly crap, it's the apocalypse. I demanded, and got, an apology from my mom for yelling at me because I didn't get back to her right when she wanted me to.
On top of that, we negotiated an agreement: I touch bases with her a little more frequently and she refrains from screaming at me for not giving her what she wants when she wants it. It's a win-win.
Damn! My brother will never believe this.
